With breast cancer being the most common cancer in women (excluding skin cancer), and the second leading cause of cancer death (second to lung-cancer), about 1 in 8 women will get invasive breast cancer in their lifetime, accounting for 30% of all new female cancers each year. (American Cancer Society)
Gynecologic cancer affects a woman's reproductive system, ranging from ovarian, uterine (endometrial), vaginal, cervical, and vulvar cancer. Though less common, these cancers, specifically ovarian cancer, have a much higher fatality rate, standing as one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women. (American Cancer Society)
